Education Foundation Report

The news that comes out of our annual foundation meeting is that the foundation board voted to call for the revival of the legendary silent and live auction in Detroit to buff up our $$$.

Secondary news is the board is very appreciative of Dr. Russell Frank for continuing the great tradition set by Joe Blundo. The College Columnist Scholarship Award is a great success. We’ve had 12 winners since 1999. Our first winner Rob Nelson is now the overnight anchor on ABC News. During the coming year, the foundation expects to study what has become of the other winners.

We’ve had 12 winners since 1999. The 13th will be named in Detroit. We give first, second and third place cash prizes. Our entries this year were our highest ever.

Our foundation has been in existence since 2003. We are very excited about our future. College columnists love what they do, and they are very good at it. It’s difficult for our judges to pick winners. This is what we’re about!
