iPad App to feature Herb Caen’s Best Columns

Herb CaenThe San Francisco Chronicle’s Pulitzer Prize winning columnist Herb Caen will  be showcased in multimedia presentations for Apple iPad users, according to MarketWire.  Caen’s classic stories will be narrated by some of his closest friends and video will include vintage photos and film footage of San Francisco and the Bay Area notables that Caen wrote about for decades.
 
Herb Caen is a member of the NSNC Lifetime Achievement Hall of Fame. receiving the Ernie Pyle Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993 in Portland, Oregon. The legendary columnist was NSNC’s first Lifetime Achievement recipient and amazed everyone at the conference with his energy. Herb Caen is known for having a one-of-a-kind brand of journalism. In 1996 his unabashed love for the City by the Bay resulted in a Special Award Pulitzer Prize. He died in 1997 after 59 years of column writing.

The iPad app featuring the spirit of San Francisco and Caen’s cherished work is available from The San Francisco Chronicle and is free to their subscribers. Other users can view it for 14 days free.
