Memminger lands book deal

Memminger began his three times a week humor column ”Honolulu Lite” in 1992 during his 30 years of employment with the Honolulu Star-Bulletin. After newspaper cutbacks, his humor column, “Charleyworld,” eventually found a home at Hawaii’s Internet news site: the HawaiiReporter.com.

His essays and columns have appeared in national magazines, distributed by the New York Times News Service and he was included in “Chicken Soup For The Soul of America,” written in memory of the victims of 911.

He’s had two previous books of his work published in Hawaii, the most recent being “Hey, Waiter, There’s An Umbrella In My Drink.” His current publisher, Minotaur Books is an imprint of St. Martin’s Press, a subsidiary of Macmillan.
