Our Birmingham conference is back on track! The in-person event is set for Thursday-Sunday, June 9-12, 2022, with educational, awards and activities scheduled to take place on Friday and Saturday. The venue will be at the DoubleTree by Hilton Birmingham Perimeter Park.

How safe is it? A Zoom meeting with the NSNC, the Doubletree, and the Birmingham Visitors and Convention Bureau offers these facts:

Birmingham is located in Jefferson County, AL where the county vaccination rate is 63.6% for 1+ doses. (Note: Alabama’s statewide rate of vaccination is 55.1% is skewed by rural unvaccinated areas.)

In comparison, our own research shows 68% of the entire U.S. population has received 1+ dose. (Report as of 11/11/2022, See https://covidactnow.org/ for updates).

The DoubleTree employs strict hygiene protocols and will do whatever we require to promote safety. Birmingham has resumed business fully and much bigger conferences have taken place with no negative reports.

After long deliberations and survey feedback, the NSNC is moving forward!

We welcome the chance to see each other again, especially after canceling Tulsa (2020) and rescheduling Birmingham (2021). It is high time!

Birmingham was chosen because 2021 marked the 60th anniversary of the Freedom Riders. An advance scouting trip in 2018 to this most lovely city revealed Birmingham’s rich history, excellent restaurants, and a guarantee of Southern hospitality. A trip to the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, a fascinating interpretive museum and research center, is worth the price of admission alone!

More information on speakers and activities to come. This conference will not be available on Zoom. Nothing beats an in-person reunion in Birmingham, a city that will exceed all expectations.

Put June 9-12, 2022 on your calendar!
