National Society of Newspaper Columnists to Recognize 2026 Annual Columnist Contest Winners
The National Society of Newspaper Columnists (NSNC) President and Board of Directors are pleased to announce the winners of the 2026 Annual Columnist Contest at an online awards celebration on Thursday, July 23 at 7 p.m. EST.
“We are excited to celebrate the best in column writing, and the awards ceremony is where that brilliance takes center stage. We welcome everyone to join us for the fun and festivities,” said Meredith Cummings, president of the NSNC.
This year’s contest received 128 entries in eight categories, including General Interest Print, General Interest Online, Humor Print, Humor Online, Sports, Social Justice, Lifestyles, and Crisis Commentary.
Accomplished, award-winning journalists from across the country served as this year’s judges. Awards will include First, Second, and Third Place, and Honorable Mention. Certificates will be issued to winning columnists. To see a list of our past contest winners, click here.
