Lisa Smith Molinari, president, 2016-18 term
Lisa Smith Molinari is a syndicated columnist, author, blogger and speaker, whose “Meat & Potatoes of Life” column appears weekly in civilian and military newspapers across the United States, as well as on her award-winning blog, www.themeatandpotatoesoflife.com.
After graduating from law school, Molinari took a job as a litigation attorney in Pittsuburgh. However, her career took an unexpected turn when she married a man in the U.S. Armed Forces. As they moved all over the world to follow military orders, Molinari wrote personal essays about her humorous observations of military life, parenting and marriage. When one of those essays was published in The Washington Post, Molinari created her column, which has been published in newspapers, magazines, websites and anthologies.
Molinari was a winner in the National Society of Newspaper Columnists Annual Contest and a finalist in the Robert Benchley Society Annual Humor Writing Contest.
Molinari, her husband and their three children are currently stationed at the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.
