Heartfelt Sympathy from NSNC

NSNC would like to express its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Robert Lawrence "Larry" Maddry. He passed away on March 29, and he had been in a long-term care facility for the last few years in gradual decline. Maddry was 90 years old, just one week shy of his next birthday. His son, Larry, remembers the excitement he had in organizing the first NSNC Conference in Virginia Beach. Read Larry's obituary in The Virginian-Pilot: https://www.pilotonline.com/obituaries/robert-lawrence-larry-maddry-virginia-beach/

Detroit Auto Critic Back at the Wheel!

That sound of tires screeching that you hear is Scott Burgess, Detorit News auto critic, laying rubber as he returns to his old job. Burgess quit March 14 when the editors asked him to “soften” a column that was highly critical of the hot-shot Chrysler 200. Apparently, garaging the column not what the Detroit News…

OED says OMG, FYI, LOL OK

If you know what the title of this article means, you are probably now in the majority of English language users. Yes, these abbreviations, formerly the property of young people sending text messages, are now considered actual words. Who says, you say? Oxford English Dictionary, or OED, as they define themselves in their own dictionary.…

Detroit conference will make you smarter than Ryan Seacrest

The “American Idol” host told millions of viewers Wednesday night that Hitsville USA — the iconic Motown Music headquarters — is in the suburbs. But visitors to the 2011 “Rebound In Motown” NSNC conference will see for themselves that Barry Gordy’s two-story frame house where the musical magic happened is right on Detroit’s West Grand…
